advice on abnormal battery drain

To recap. Let the phone idle with the daughter board disconnected and power drain still exists. There might be a short somewhere else but its going to require more disassembly

took the whole board out to do an inspection. from what I could see there was no corrosion or anything unusual that I could see. I wonder if the charging port could be the problem even though it seems to charge up very well?
I'm about to put it up on ebay haha

That could be a possibility. You can get the part pretty cheap online if you want to try replacing it.
But I guess there are those rare times where its just near impossible to hunt down the true culprit...
