Hi,
I'm trying to put together a zip-file to flash some ca-certificates - but TWRP won't flash it

OK, here's what I did:
First, I got a sample.zip from somewhere in XDA that was made just to allow easy creation of zip files. I unpacked it and put together the necessary files and dirs:
Code:
.
├── META-INF
│   └── com
│       └── google
│           └── android
│               ├── update-binary
│               └── updater-script
└── system
    └── etc
        └── security
            └── cacerts
                ├── 5ed36f99.0
                └── e5662767.0
Then I modded updater-script to my needs:
Code:
show_progress(0.1, 1);
ui_print("Now mounting /system ...");
mount("yaffs2", "MTD", "system", "/system");
show_progress(0.1, 1)
ui_print("Installing CAcert Root certificates");
package_extract_dir("system", "/system");
show_progress(0.2, 1);
ui_print("Unmounting /system ...");
unmount("/system");
ui_print(" ");
ui_print("Done! CAcert root certificates should be in system keystore now ...");
show_progress(1,5);
and zipped it again. Then I pushed it to the phone.

But - trying to flash it resulted in an error:
Quote:
E: Error Executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/OpenDelta/FlashAfterUpdate/CAcert.zip'
Somewhere I read in order to get rid of this I should replace update-binary with the file from a zip that flashes fine - so I did. But the result was the same

Any hints anyone? Device etc. are in my signature.

Device: Sony Xperia Z1 (C6903 aka honami)
Recovery: TWRP v2.6.3.0
ROM: SlimKat latest weekly (Android 4.4, CAF stuff included)
Modem: 8974-AAAAANAZQ-10270047-39
Kernel: 3.4.0PIMPED+-gf79222f-dirty

Previous phones: HTC Incredible S (vivo), Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE (i9305)

There are two culprits in that script:
  • Line 4: mount() only takes three arguments now, not four, like it did in earlier versions
  • Line 5 lacks a ; at the end
So, after correcting these two lines to read
Code:
mount("yaffs2", "system", "/system");
show_progress(0.1, 1);
flashing ran OK.

Maybe this helps somebody some day

Props go to helicopter at freenode/#twrp for pointing me towards the log and thus pointing me in the right direction

Thumbs up 2.6.3.0 on GT-I9305 LTE

Just installed the .tar file using Mobile Odin Pro.Had a problem with CWM and thought I'd give this a try.Install went fine and the rooted stock 4.3 firmware XXUEML5 stayed rooted.Tried a couple of reboots and some root required apps.All went well,nice and stable.Like the touch screen(s).My first impressions are that this is a pretty solid "recovery" system.To all those involved in compiling this code,thanks very much for all your efforts.

DONATE TO ME
@Dees_Troy just to let you know with twrp 2.7 I am unable to do a backup but works fine with 2.6.3.0. I have attached the recovery log for you guys to see maybe why it is failing the backup. As far as I could see

I:createTarFork() process ended with ERROR=255

appears to be the error

Thanks

2.7 is... broken. 2.7.0.1 is out- flashing and backup issues are solved.
