Default [Q] Galaxy i9300 possible china version

A friend of mine recently bought a Galaxy i9300 which to me seems different from the original. How can i tell physically if it is really a variant?

If my friend really does have the china variant..how can we enter download mode in order to flash in another rom? I tried holding down volume down, power and the home button but it only goes into a test mode!!

This is a forum for i9300, nothing here will help with Chinese clones. Use Google to identify the phone and search for other user's solutions.
