Too.....much......nonsensical.......gibberish.

1. No rom breaks your SD card. Sounds like you had a lemon.
2. The media scanner bug has been around for some time, and the only known fix is to manually kill it. (e.g. by using media scanner/media scanner root) apps on Play store.
I'm only responsible for what I say, not for what you understand.

Phone: HTC One | S-OFF Galaxy Nexus (temporary)

I do not answer support PM's, they will be ignored.

I will try to repeat it one more time: no rom can damage SD card.

Unless of course you're booting CM on your phone when your sd is formatted to exFAT. A reformat should solve that thought but as you say no rom physically breaks your sdcard.

I'm sure that guy had a lemon.

1.I agree that it's unlikely to be a rom issue. But it may be an issue for some of our devices and there is an entire thread dedicated to sd card issues with the s3.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1906058

Galaxy S3 - the sd card destroyer

2. I also agree that the media scanner issue is not rom related but the issue does tend to appear when you flash a new rom. There are plenty of known fixes though. Disabling media scanner is ok as a temporary solution but finding the cause and eliminating is more advisable. Most likely culprits are nandroid backups or thumbnail caches.
Some, but not all of the fixes, can be found in this thread.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2016202

Get Maximum Battery Out of Stock JellyBean ROM (plus fix Media draining much battery)

My advice to the original poster would be to check out these 2 threads and ask for advice on them as going back to XELLA is unlikely to resolve his issues

The media scanner does what it's intended to do, i.e. scan the internal memory at every boot. Some times, though, it goes nuts when scanning and that's most likely if you have a gazillion of small files on your internal card, like if you have a few nandroid backups in the blobs format (which generates millions of small files in millions of random folders)

the fix of media scanner is

delete videos of the phone, making this, media scannner return to normality, is not a bug is a video corrupted in your phone. (or a mp3)

When you solve your problem and media scanner return to normality, copy the videos and mp3 little by little to your phone seeing the media acanner, for detect the corrupted file, when media scanner return to eat your battery, delete the crafted file and you solve your problem.
