Default Bypass Cracked Sreen w/ Pincode

Friend of mine dropped her AT&T S3 phone and cracked her screen. I have not seen the phone yet, best I can tell she took it to best buy and they said the screen is cracked and the digitizer is broke. She of course has a pin code and is unable to unlock it, I thought when a phone was locked you also couldn't access it from a PC. Her phone is not rooted, is there any way to recover her contacts, text messages, and possibly any pictures?

THanks!

One question: has your friend got a samsung account and obviously google account? Are they synchronized?

she's got a Google account, but since not everything is on her replacement phone I'm betting it's not sync. I was thinking maybe Android lost, installing from Google play Web and seeing what I could do.

Turns out no display at all, does the s3 support MHL to hdmi? I'll just buy one if it's the same as the n2
