Default CM10.2 Stable - Earphones' sounds dies when using Google Now / Voice typing

I have searched high and low but no one seems to have the same problem.

I am listening to podcasts or music over earphones on my I9300 and if I do a Google Now voice search or use SwiftKey voice typing while the podcast is playing, all sound dies on my phone.

Only restarting the phone restores the sound. This does not happen when listening via the phone's speaker.

I am using CM10.2 stable.

So I loaded SuperNexus 4.4.2, exactly the same problem.
Music and podcasts will play fine via speaker, but as soon as I use voice typing or Google Now Voice while playing, all sound dies.

Unplugging the earphones, it then plays fines via speaker.

Ok, I found something else that is interesting.
When listening to music or Podcasts on any app (Pocket casts, Podkicker, Google Play Music, N7 player) and I initiate Google Now, it is as if it disconnets access to the file for the audio app to play the Google Now sound. The app then either continues playing without sound or the app crashes or skips the file saying it's unable to access the file (most common result).

This is with CM10.2 stable, CM11 Nightly 20131226, Supernexus 4.0 Build1.

This error does not happen on my stock Nexus 7 2012 running 4.4.2.
