Hello XDA Developers users,

Recently, I've been asking myself as I can't find the difference between kernels and ROMS.
I can flash ROMS and have a stable ROM as always, but what's the kernel? Is the kernel a second type of ROM? Can I flash kernels instead of ROMS? Is the kernel an extra 'thing' that can be added to specific ROMS?

I'm sorry for asking this silly question, I'm new. :P

A simple search in the XDA forum came up with this:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki...=ROM-VS-Kernel
