Unhappy OTA upgrade nightmare

Hi all,
I finally got notification for my SIII OTA upgrade to Android 4.3 which i happily installed. I did everything by the book, the phone was fully charged and the process was not interrupted at any time.
When it re-booted, I found that the sim card was not recognised,I cant access my text message folders, I can't connect to Samsung Kies via cable or WiFi.
Any idea how I can re-install the upgrade or downgrade back to 4.1.3???

Any help gratefully received.

XD Sadly, if u are not rooted. Which i suppose u arent. U dun have much choices. Try factory reset. U will lose ur data though. If only samsung followed apple and made a feature tat will re install the firmware and not erase ur data.

My fears confirmed

I'll try a reset tonight and see how it goes.

I didn't want to root it while the warranty was still valid and look what happens!

Why not root it while warranty? U can always go back stock.

Sadly, it's too late for that

Tried the factory reset and still have the same problems. Any more suggestions?

Can I root then return to stock?

Yeah if factory reset doesn't work. I guess u could just try with kies recovery. Or u might have to go back to service center and fix it.

Yep! Just waiting for the wee envelope to come and send it back for a warranty reset. You paitiently wait for updates without rooting and look what happens

Knowing my luck, I'll get my next phone, root it right away and end up with a brick!
