Default CWM question

So,first time when I installed a custom rom on my s3,I used CWM,I think,I wiped data/cache/dalvik and when I boot up the phone, surprize my interal storage was wiped,so my question is:Is it normal if wipe data to wipe internal storage(on s2 wasn't hapening)? On TWRP is not happening.
Press THANKS if I helped you

Check in /data/media to see if your legacy data is still there. Internal storage is wiped if you factory reset from within rom or you format /data/media.
