I tried:

different USB ports,
ejecting the battery for 10 minutes
redownloading the MD5 file
rebooting the PC

Nothing works. I'm running stock firmware rooted with saferoot, C105AUCUAMJ2. Any solutions?

Which is currently the best root method?

My warranty is about to expire so I would like to root my SM-C105. Which is currently the best root method, this one or the CF-Auto-Root by @Chainfire? I'm on Android 4.4.2, baseband C105XXUBNI3. I don't want to do anything fancy - just root, apply the SD card fix & apply the fix to increase video recording length.

S4 zoom custom lollipop or even Marshmellow

Hi Freyelis,

I am about to give your guide a try and flash my SM-C101.

Do you have any plans to take this further to Lollipop and maybe even Marshmellow is there a thread I can follow for the development?

Thanks

Chris

Flashing 4.2.2 (XFA or XFE) on Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom SM-C101 ??

Hi there "Posters", can someone please tell me what's the difference between XFA and XFE when downloading the 4.4.2 KitKat ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom SM-C101 off SamMobile. Also 4.4.2 is only available as XFE on their website, the latest XFA available is currently at 4.2.2 and my phone has (ZKA)XFA on the box that it came in . I am situated in South Africa.

Thanks in advance :fingers-crossed:

I am getting an "invalid user" error when trying to access the C-101 rom

I tried both being logged into and out of sammobile but the same error occurs. Is there another link to this available anywhere?

Did you try cat /proc/last_kmsg? Lots of info there under ATAG_CMDLINE, at least on my device. Both an "androidboot.bootloader" and an "androidboot.serialno" just a guess, but I bet you should match them both to your update. Good luck. c_p

SM-C105a ATT kitkat firmare actually works for Telcel!

    Here it is: https://firmware.gem-flash.com/index.php?a=browse&b=file-info&id=20780.

    I have signal and all:

The only remaining question is: Will I be call charged as if I was in US?

BTW: I didn't manage to downgrade: Looks like once upgrading using the frankenstein kitkat rom. The only solution, as I was reading, is to repartition and for that you also need a pit file.

Guys I have not experience any of the problems.. This guide is full-proof tested on my own device as well :)

and by the way, I did DATA WIPE/FACTORY RESET after I flashed kitkat..

and later I found out that most problems were erased after I wiped/factory-reset my friend's phone as well :)

it seems there was an incompatibility of JELLYBEAN's old data with Kitkat.. So everything works now after that.

I also noticed very improved battery life..

Are you running this on the SM-C105a AT&T Model with LTE working?

    anyone tested, this guide works?

    I wouldn't make such a long guide if it didn't right? :)

It was tested on our own s4 zoom devices, so unless you've done something wrong.. it will indeed work :)
