Default How Samsung Service Center managed to clear my password

Hi Guys,

I sent my phone to Samsung service center due to no display. My phone was locked with 6 digit password.

When i received my phone after they repair, they cleared my password without any data loss, how they do that?

My S4 was rooted, that's the problem? Or they have special tool?

Thanks.

Hello,

I don't know the way used by Samsung, but when you have root is simple as this

They surely removed password to test the hardware (*#0*# on stock ROM) after the repair.

You can through recovery by doing "Wipe data/factory reset" but on stock recovery this will format also /data/media/0 (it's the mount point of internal memory)
