@D.O.C. Maybe try the *#0011# trick to see if you have additional bands?

No mate, they show the same on that menu, either way they must be hardcoded (prewritten menu), so I dont think they will be shown there.
Without really connecting to these "unlocked" networks, all my observations wpuld be objective (obviously I do get better reception and faster wifi speed :p), but as said....all subjective and not real measurements.

Would you mind listing out the steps you did different from the other thread to get all the bands? I am curious to try this

I used EFS Professional to get into DIAG mode, installed this driver, the com port used varies a bit from the one described at the instructions (showed only a few, so it was not hard to see which one was the right one, you can try a "trial and error"), and when modifying the NV I did not select all the GSM - WCDMA Bands like the author did, since selecting Japan 1700 and XI - 1500 would cause it to show no signal at all.

If you try it, please make sure to annotate somewhere your #1877 code so I can compare it with mine (pm it to me if you want to, although all 906 should be the same (since its bands, not imei or anything personal) I think I did not memorized it correctly, just to double check).

BTW, when entering into service mode (code 2263) via Shortcut master (free on play store) and comparing it to my Note 3 int. I can select all the same bands except one, the Note 3 has Band 20 whereas the G906S has Band 17, So I am guessing it does work? (need more objective testing though)

DOC, is this ROM dependent? Do we need to do this everytime we flash new ROM?

Will it work on SM-G906K you think? If not, what needs to be done for it to work? As I said, happy to test though I'm nowhere near to be an expert. Still, perfectly able to follow clear instructions and take the risk.

No, even if you flash a new firmware with odin, it seems the changes you make are permanent, but wait!, I do not even have confirmation this actually works!

Yeah, G906K would use the same steps, but, as I said, hold up until we at least know its worth your time.

Lets see....download Shortcut Master Lite from Google Play, then go to code 2263
I see this options on my screen, are these options the same ones all of you got? (without modding anything), sorry, I do not remember what I had before XD, what a noob :p

To those of you who wants video calls to be enabled, I have done some edits to my CSC and I think I maybe have found a lead to enable video calls.
This may be a lead, but who knows; just posting it out here for people to maybe try to tinker and maybe together we can get a solution.

... crap. editing my post via xda mobile caused the code to disappear.. i'll edit and post this again as soon as i get access to a pc.

This seemed to enable me to hit the video call button, but somehow the error appeared (as shown in attached picture).

any luck? :fingers-crossed:

we need to get more dev's interested in the customization of this phone. everybody should spread the word on how awesome this phone is, and try to get more dev's interested in doing more with it. with the note 4 coming out, there should be a lot more dev for the 805 and the 420. but we need to get people to push more customization for this phone.
i've been trying to talk to indie with omega rom. this phone would be unbeatable with a full omega rom on it. i have also spoken with miscom about working with indie to make something like that happen. it is in all of our interests, to get more devs involved with this phone. what do you guys think?

If you flashed miscom's ROM, most likely that would be the cause since his initial build was based on the 906K ROM...

yeah, that's what i was thinking, but still think that's kind of weird. haven't ever notice this being the case with other custom roms. no biggie.

another question is all of the sudden my youtube widget (that let's you scroll through four videos at a time) has disappeared from my phone. have any of you guys experienced this? this widget always comes stock with all sammi roms, and all of the sudden it is gone. and i can't seem to find any information on it. can't find it in play store either. anybody know anything about this?

If you're on miscom's ROM, maybe it was disabled/removed from it?
I used his earlier ROM and I noticed there are olleh's apps which weren't there before.
The opposite could happen with your youtube.

when was his latest update? i'm not sure if i am on the older one or the newest one. i discovered that it was about the new youtube update, not the rom. but now i am very interested to know if there is a newer version of this rom than the one i'm on.

here is the screen shot.

I tried to run antutu a couple of times, it always got stuck on 3D Engine tests then force closes.
I uninstall the app, tried again to install from Google play store and got an error 'the app is not compatible with your model'... weird!

I'm running a @miscom custom ROM.

Any ideas?

Hello All,

I just got the G906K. i'm using it outside Kurian. How can I enable the HD voice ?

I have no issue of using LTE network it works fine. but the HD voice is disabled.

I see the HD voice option is gray under call setting, I cannot chose it.

I've tried the hiding menu some options but I could not.

could someone please share how to enable the HD voice for S5 prime ?

thank you,

Miscom has release a ROM based on G906S. Maybe give that a try and see if the problem still exist or not.
If it is then it's YouTube issue.
Hopefully that helps

yeah, the funny thing is that there are two antutu's right now. there is the new antutu 5, which is a beta. that is the one that you are getting the errors on. then there is an update to the older antutu 4, which updates it to 5.1. that is the one you want to load. it will work on miscoms rom. i know it's a little confusing. i don't know why they were name them like that, but it is what it is. so try to find the older antutu 4 if you can. then let it update. or just look for the 5.1, and not the 5 beta. hopefully that will get you a good copy. good luck.

    Custom Rom

    Custom Rom provided by @miscom

    Comparison with my N9005

    Battery

Battery life seems fine to me. The 2k screen not really draining the juice from the 2800mah. It last me around 10-11hours normal usage with LTE.

    Screen

I cant differentiate a FHD screen with a 2K one. The only different is N9005 screen is oversaturated.

    Sensor

There is no humidity and temperature sensor in this beast but it comes with heartbeat sensor and fingerprint reader.

    Camera

Not much different as from what i can see for now

    Benchmark

    3Dmark result : Maxed out ( Everything stock )

    Antutu score : 37900 ( Everything stock )

I also notice that the Wifi AC speed is much more slower compare with N9005. As i remember , my N9005 Wifi AC speed is over 150mbps but with this beast , all i get is 30mbps with Speedtest app.

Note that there is now official CF-Auto-Root for the Prime:

Not sure why there is no on-screen visual during rooting, but will check that out, and update the CFAR when I solve it.

    XtreStoLite LTE-A

    Hi G906 users,

I have the first test version of XtreStoLite G906 ready.
The ROM is based on the G906K KTU1ANH6 firmware.

But I think it will work on the G906L/S models also.

If someone wanna test it out for me (G906K/L/S) then give me an PM.

It has all the features of the latest international version of my XtreStoLite ROM (see my Sig.)

Make sure that you have already the most recent bootloader installed on your device if you want to test out my ROM.
If you don't know how to do this, then I can make an Odin flashable boot loader package for you of the most recent one, just let me know!

It looks as though @CallMESuper is working on the root / TWRP issues. http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=66879951&postcount=1073

On windows, I tried modifying TWRP 3.0.2 for g901f using Carliv's Image Kitchen and a few other tools - ended up with a recovery over the magic 15 MB, and of course it failed through Odin. At least I didn't brick my phone.

Even on stock MM, battery drain thus far seems minimal - much better than anything I experienced on LP roms.
I have ported twrp 3.0.2 from g901f and can flash supersu to root. I will release it after I confirm it will works on all g906.

    Rom s5 g906s

ROM MOVED TO ITS OWN THREAD

I made a new ODEX ROM and S Health is working.

Please refer to the OP to get instructions on how to do the initial root and install CMW Recovery.
Per the OP: Do not wipe/factory reset to install this ROM. That may damage your phone. Just install the ROM on top of your stock ROM.

I also tested doing a backup and a restore: It works fine.

As usual I am not responsible for anything that happens to your device.

ROM is rooted, ODEX, custom boot animation, and with Busybox. Also, I removed Knox.

    Enjoy!

    ROMS are non-wipe.
