Someone with the latest Samsung Firmware (ending with J1) please answer:
After using the root method of OP, will Knox still be 0x0 and will System status still be "Official"?
Or will System status be "Custom", after using this root method on Firmware J1?
Triggering knox isn't an error. It's a method of detecting modifications.
The method of towelroot (not just my tutorial ) should not trip knox. No promises. As for the status... that depends on disabling knox. I have knox 0x0 and official. Many people do report knox 0x0 and custom however. The status can be changed easily, however knox once tripped it cannot be undone.
I have not checked your build number, but towel root exploits was patched recently. You may need to roll back to a previous firmware for it to work. I think you need ang2 or earlier, as said in this thread already if you read it. My tutorial doesn't cover the downgrading. There are several written after this one that do.
I currently use neat rom. I have knox 0x0 and official status. However to do it, i had to downgrade, root then update using mobile odin pro (paid app). This is the best option IMHO atm because it allows for me to run a newer firmware and keep root. In the neat rom thread it has "mini" tutorials.
