Once a user swipes his finger on the sensor, the resulting fingerprint image is compared to a set of stored fingerprint images. Does anybody know if these stored images are encrypted (and if so, what type of encryption)? Are the stored images kept on the fingerprint chip, or stored somewhere on the phone? What about the data size of the fingerprint image (byte size, data layout)?

The only information I've been able to find is that the Galaxy S5 is using the Vfs61xx chip from Validity Sensors. The specs on this chip don't mention anything about encryption (unlike the VFS495).
