CF-Auto-Root is now available from the repo - http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/

Before flashing, make sure you have enabled "OEM unlock" from "Developer Settings" !

Note that CFAR's display code isn't yet compatible with the S7, as such, there is no output on screen. This means that after flashing with ODIN, the device will only show you the S7 logo, and it seems like nothing happens. Just leave the device alone for 5 minutes. It'll reboot a few times, then boot into Android, but now you have root.

If it still doesn't do anything after 5 minutes, something has gone wrong, and you should probably reflash your stock boot.img and recovery.img.

Echt weer een super prestatie van je @Chainfire !

Tomorrow my S7 will arrive and of course I need root to restore Titanium Backups of my old S5 (only data, not the progs).

Just to be sure, rooting with CF-Autoroot will not trip my Knox counter right ?

you'll have to flash this back. once autoroot is done there is no need in leaving the boot and recovery img from chainfire on your phone.
get your hands on the corresponding boot and recovery images for your phone and flash them back after you are done.
knox will be tripped anyway, so you may also flash twrp or anything else.

SuperSU v2.74 and updated CF-Auto-Roots to deal with the lost root issue: https://plus.google.com/+Chainfire/posts/XMFgencRR11

A massive thanks Chainfire for this fix and for all of his great work in general! This completely solves the issue as far as I can see.

After losing root a week ago from Samsung pushing out the security update, I once again have root and without losing any data or phone setup. Good to know that Chainfire programmed this new version of SuperSU to block these Samsung security updates that inadvertently cause the loss of root (hopefully it works!).

I regained root only using my original firmware (that I downloaded from SamMobile) and the updated CF Autoroot zip file for the G930F on Chainfire's CF Autoroot website. I did not use TWRP.

The somewhat simple steps I followed to regain root were:

    1. Determined my complete firmware version and country code (I used the "Phone INFO" app from the Play store).
    2. Downloaded the exact firmware version of my Galaxy S7 (G930F) from SamMobile.com (in my case G930FXXU1APB4_G930FUUB1APB4_TPA.zip). To be sure I was getting the exact firmware I matched up as much as I could, including the country, build date and time. Though I have a fast internet connection, it took about 2 hours for me to download the firmware (as I only have a free account).
    3. Extracted the boot.img file from the zip file using 7zip (The boot.img file is contained in the tar.md5 file that starts with "AP").
    4. Converted boot.img file into an Odin flashable boot.tar.md5 file (using the script found here: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2446269).
    5. Booted phone into recovery mode (Power+Volume Down+Home)
    6. Opened up Odin (contained in latest CF Autoroot zip file) and flashed boot.tar.md5 (put this in the AP slot in Odin before pressing start). The flash took about 10 to 20 seconds or so from what I recall.
    7. When phone went into boot loops (as expected), held down Power+Volume Down+Home to get back to recovery mode.
    8. Flashed the new G930F CF Autoroot zip file in Odin. After a few minutes of updating (included some automatic reboots), phone booted fully back up and was fully rooted again!

I am aware of the issue with the security update, but it is a holiday weekend here. There will be a fix, maybe today, maybe tomorrow, maybe the day after, but it's coming.
