Use espier apps for all that(lock screen etc)

As for the icons I wud first advice icon packs because they are easy to make u HV thousand choices and u can always revert back
What the mod u r talking bout for y, does is modifies the apk and replace icon inside the apk it by Icon dev has decided.
So there is no way to revert to old icons
There are very limited icons that wud be converted (in icon packs there is a default style even if there is no exclusive icon)
U HV to keep applying the icon pack after installing a new app or reinstalling to keep the theme which otherwise would be back to default
