Not impossible... just really, really slow :P started the download earlier this morning from rapidgator and i've got about 3 hours left on it. I'll mirror to mediafire tonight (if it gets done before I pass out)

for some weird reason, I couldn't make it work,

then in recovery mode I deleted the apk, and installed eu.chainfire.supersu from market
and everything went ok.
If somebody also having problems, deleting the apk from this zip before flashing and then installing supersu from market might also work

Hi,

I tried to root my p5200 on 4.4.2 (details in screen shot)

But no matter which recovery i use, i get a error regarding binaries not installed. (Reflashing didnt work)

So this is what i did.
I installed the twrp recovery with "auto reboot" unchecked. After the procees i pressed volume up and power button together while still in download mode.
Got in to recovery, for some reason it was extremely laggy, but i manged to install the root file stored in the internal sd card.
Successfully flashed, but when i goto the superuser app i get this message

" Error: The su binary is necessary to update! Click to install

Error during in the installation...Please send the error report to the developers!"

I reflashed, wiped dalvik and cache but nothing worked.

I odin installed philz recovery and flashed another root file but still the same

"There is no su binary installed and superuser cannot install them. This is a problem"

Lastly, i odin flashed cf auto root. Flashing was successful, but the tab gets stuck in the boot logo.

Where am i going wrong?
Thanks

Question
I am trying to root my Galaxy Tab 3 10.1" tablet, model GT-5210 (Wi-fi only), so I can install a new, custom OS. The tablet has KitKat (installed via OTA update), and the build # is KOT49H.P5210UEU0CNK1.

I load up Odin, put my phone into stock Android system recovery (as close as I can get to recovery mode), but Odin does NOT recognize my tablet. When I boot into KitKat, it recognizes it, no problem. I hit Home, Volume Down, and Power, but when it boots, I don't see a warning screen that people say I should before the recovery screen. The only options I can see are:

Reboot system now
Apply update from ADB
Apply update from external storage
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Apply update from cache

When I started, I reinstalled new versions of the Samsung USB drivers, too, just to make sure I have the latest driver on my Windows laptop.

Am I doing something wrong? Any and all help would be really appreciated.
