In deep sleep with wi-fi on permanently and apps like email, weather, ebay etc syncing in the background the battery use is normally around 0.5% per hour.

I found this to be my case as well. As long as I don't game the battery lasts 8-10hrs. If I play games then maybe 3-4hrs.

Same here, but the deep-sleep battery life is what bothers me most: my iPad 2 does 1 month with Wifi on..

how long does your 8.4 tab need to charge to 100%?

I am still wondering if my tab is broken or it is because of CM12.

I need about 4 hours to charge to 100% and battery life is horrendous bad imo.

3 days and 15 hours with wifi on and tablet mostly sleeping (only a few calls and an occasional flipboard while sitting on the throne). I always use the auto setting for the screen.
When gaming about 3 to 5 hours depending on the game. With Hearthstone, PvZ 2, Defenders I go from 100% to 10% in about one and a half, two hours.
With light games such as Leo's Fortune, Crossy Road, Fruit Ninja, Badland, Crossy Road, Minion Rush I get about 4 to 5 hours of battery time.
I can get 8 hours of constant reading with Moon+ Reader with low brightness.

I think the maximum one can get with some light use is 5 days with wifi off (or updates disabled, because wifi itself doesn't use more than 2% of power in standby if there are no updates made) and screen on auto -5 + battery saving mode.

I was personally able to go from 7-ish hours to 10,5 hours. Also, try lowering your screen brightness. The percentage your screen uses in your battery-log is nearly double what my screen uses.

In my case it helped too. Weird thing is that I reset my battery when it was 5%. Right after I switch it on it was 36% charged. Looks like 31% of the battery haven't been used since I rooted and installed cm11 for the first time.

Now I'm running cm12 and battery life is great.
