will be somewhere in framework-res.apk most likely

I dont deal with stuff like this normally - you will have to look in your framework and try and work it out but iv given you an idea of where to start below

try in styles.xml find the following and edit it - I think that controls that menu

@drawable/menu_background

@drawable/menu_background_fill_parent_width

?textColorPrimaryInverse

#ffffffff

?textAppearanceInverse

also look at

@style/TextAppearance

@style/TextAppearance.Inverse

@color/primary_text_dark

@color/primary_text_dark_disable_only

@color/secondary_text_dark

@color/primary_text_light

@color/secondary_text_light

@color/primary_text_dark_nodisable

@color/secondary_text_dark_nodisable

@color/primary_text_light_nodisable

@color/secondary_text_light_nodisable

as this will give the colors light or dark that are set in the first lot of code

also look at

?textColorPrimaryInverse

?textColorHintInverse

#ff0000ee

All the above code will mean that pannel text will be textColorPrimaryInverse which in the above example is light

Iv highlighted in red the parts that are linked and the part in blue is the result
Note this will alter the text on all pannels that use that setting - so you may well up solving black on black and then creating white on white bugs - therefore you will need to change the backgrounds of each indivdual app
