good news... we've unlock bootloader now, so it's easy to get root for a1-810 now.
the remount issue still there (it's in kernel), we still need the source to fix it (someone said Acer will release it in 2 weeks).
for unlock bootloader... we can just remove the limitation in kernel, then create a new boot.img to solve it (we don't need workaround anymore).
if you don't like to unlock your bootloader, still can try create a kernel module to do the remount job.

Hi,

so after almost a year, is there any progress? I have rooted my old Iconia A1-810 4.4.2, but my filesystem is mounted as read-only and I don't know about any working way to remount it as read-write.

when I try the procedure described by twu2 on page 4, my tablet restarts after command "insmod /data/local/tmp/system_remount.ko" and system stays mounted as read-only just like fREASTO said.

is there any working way how to make system writable just for a while?
