Default Please explain /storage

I'd love if someone can point me to a resource that explains the Android file system. When I use my file browser on my phone in my root there is a dir named /storage. In that directory there is emulated, extsdcard, sdcard0 which has a little arrow on it like a Windows shortcut. I'm confused as to why is what in the land of Android. Thanks!

Well to my knowledge I can tell you that emulated is like a duplicate of the storage switchers, it doesn't affect your memory. Its just there, I don't know much about it because no one really uses it. But its just there, Sdcard0 is referred to your internal memory, so if you see SDCard0 you know everything in there is in your internal memory. If you see ExtSDCard that's your removable memory card. Also SDCard0 can be called SDCard1 sometimes.
