Default Cliq - NFC button case/skin kickstarter

There's a new kickstarter for a case or skin with 3 NFC buttons and the Nexus 5 is one of the launch phones. It looks promising and I just made my pledge. Check it out for yourself. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...th-superpowers

Interesting idea, but since it's NFC you would still need to unlock your phone right? I know with NFC chips you have to unlock, and then the phone's able to detect the chip. If that's the case, it would sort of make the whole flashlight/camera feature useless since it would be faster to open camera/flashlight from the lockscreen.
