is adb driver required to root nexus 5?

Hello...I am a bit confused....I watched some videos on YouTube and some ignore this step and others made it..(I mean the step with adb)if I don't do it and do the other steps normally the nexus will be rooted or not?

You don't need adb to root, only fastboot. Once you get a custom recovery on your phone with fastboot you can boot your phone and download supersu to it or drag and drop it from your pc to your phone. Then boot into recovery and flash supersu.

You can skip the adb push step
