Nexus 5, 4.4.3, google play camera app, 2.2.024.

I've recorded a couple of videos recently and although I was really impressed with the video quality, the sound is a bit rubbish. It has a slightly underwater, washy edge to it which must be due to a high compression rate (a bit like a 64kbps mp3). I can't seem to find an option to change the bit rate, and can't seem to find any alternative video apps (camera zoom fx doesn't record video).

Anyone got any ideas? Thanks!
