Default I don't think i'm getting HSPA+ on my Nexus 5

Hey guys, sorry for making a thread about something so stupid but i genuinely can't figure this out.

I have a nexus 5 running on t-mobile (UK) and it works perfectly except i find the internet rather slow compared to my old galaxy s3. speedtest confirms that at work i get about 3 megabit where as on my galaxy s3 i got around 20.

My nexus shows the H symbol so i'm getting hspa i think but i just can't figure out how to get hspa+ (if it's even possible.)

If someone could point me in the right direction that would be really handy.

Thanks!

Speeds I cannot talk about but fyi on nexus stock there simply is no H+ icon so whether you're on HSPA, HSPA+ or DC-HSPA, you get the same H icon, much unlike my S3 (gt-i9300).

Im actually now getting 20 mbps now on 3 UK. Since it only has a H icon, I have no idea if its + or DC which is a little annoying

I'm on 3 UK too and get around 22Mbps

When using Opensignal to test the speed it suggests I'm on 3G HSPA+ my nexus 5 only shows H no matter what speed I get.

Maybe have a look at Opensignal and see what it says your connection is.

I've checked several times but only ever seen "UMTS" or "HSPA" even when getting crazy download speeds

Hrm, I checked it myself and I'm getting 15mbit/s and the about status just says HSPA
Sometimes it used to says HSPAP, maybe android simplified it.

15mbit/s is definately HSPA+
The only real difference is greater upload speeds 3G had slower uploads than the couple mb we get now.
I think technically anything over 14.4 down is HSPA+
But it looks like Android has chosen to simplify it.
UTMS is definately 3G
