DONATE TO ME
Default Dual core mode

It is possible to set the Nexus 5 to run only with 2 cores?

In my nexus 4 I use a custom kernel for this, but from all custom kernels I tried for the Nexus 5, no one allows this.

Is there any other way? Thanks in advance.

I thought faux clock app could do it?

/sys/bus/cpu/devices/cpu2/online set to 0 turns of core 2. Same for core 3.

Not sure how long they stay off for though

Always read the OP's of a thread and the last 2 pages before asking questions, unless there has been an update - in which case, read the last 5 pages!

Hi,

Usually the path usedis /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu* (the one you want to be online/offline like rootSU said). For all CPU modifications in "live" (I mean via a file explorer), terminal or init.d scripts.

Trinity kernel have a "dualcore" version posted in the last pages of his thread, or with its app you can set the number of cores online you want. Works also with the trick above.
