hi, I am trying to flash 4.4.3 to my N5, but fashboot flash command is stuck at "sending.." and the fastboot screen is stuck at "downloading..."
If I hold the power button to reboot the phone then it boots fine. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Thanks. I booted the phone to fastboot using command prompt. It was in fastboot, it just couldn't flash and got stuck in "downloading..."

what command did you issue through fastboot?

do you get something from fastboot devices?

Code:
C:\Android\sdk\platform-tools>adb reboot-bootloader

C:\Android\sdk\platform-tools>fastboot devices
04a96bdc0a74a772 fastboot

C:\Android\sdk\platform-tools>fastboot flash recovery "C:\Android\sdk\platform-t
ools\recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.5-hammerhead.img"
sending 'recovery' (11312 KB)...
Then it got stuck there. The fastboot screen was stuck at "downloading..."

Edit:
I pressed the power button to reboot the phone and got this

Code:
C:\Android\sdk\platform-tools>fastboot flash recovery "C:\Android\sdk\platform-t
ools\recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.5-hammerhead.img"
sending 'recovery' (11312 KB)...
FAILED (data transfer failure (Too many links))
finished. total time: 188.780s

Try renaming the img file to something simple like "cwm.img" Put it in the same directory as your platform tools, then go to the platform tools subdirectory and try "fastboot flash recovery cwm.img" and see if that works. Might be a problem with the directory paths.

Clean re-installation of driver doesn't help, neither does switching USB port. I will try another USB cable when I get home.

Edit: I quite sure it's not pathing problem.

Edit 2: Cannot copy files between the N5 and my laptop. Maybe faulty USB connection.
