Default Google Hangouts Bug?

Anyone else experiencing a bug with Google Hangouts, I got a text message and when I go into hangouts to reply it force closes and says "Unfortunately Hangouts has stopped" it just started happening Christmas morning and I keep sending Bug Reports. Tia

BTW I'm using Stock/Rooted Android 4.4.2, also I've restarted the phone and cleared it from the apps section and reflashed the odex rom

I had that happen to me while I was on stock and NOT rooted. Not sure if this is a bug, but I remember that when that happened to me, it was related to a picture that I was trying to send out that just wouldn't work. Retrying to send it just recreated the issue. I fixed it by deleting it.

Try this :

Reboot a few times and open it. Clear all your messages(SMS and "GTalk") and see if you still end up with that issue.
