Android L is just a preview ,not ready for simple mortals like us lol but for the developers . I'm sure it will be ready once they release the N6,.😀
The Lean version does have a different kernel but the rest is stock !

I realize that it's just the preview for developers but thought it was worth a shot haha! How big of a difference does the kernel make?

Sign Same problem here...

Hi,

Since i updated my i9505 to CyanogenMod M7, Android 4.4.2, I'm having this issue.
Maps v. 8.1.1 (#801010124).

I'm from germany - and I get these crashes every hour... very, very annoying. I'm also driving in other countries and google caches the maps perfectly. But if it closes, I'm fricking lost which is no problem for me, but annoying as hell.

I can't remember if the problem occured on M6, which is 4.4.2 too. It worked fine in nightlies some months ago..

Please let us know if anybody has an solution or workaround.
Should I try maps v7.5.0? Where do I get the apk from?

//EDIT: found the apk. trying it out as soon as I get on the road for more than an hour again!

I am still getting this crash once or twice per drive -- today it was 2 times in an 1.5 hour period. I also flashed the ElementalX kernel to experiment with the knock to wake, but this hasn't effected the crash rate. Anyone know how to track down what is causing the crash?

Unfortunately I had no drive yet, which would've been long enough.
I also upgraded to CyanogenMod M8 now, which is 4.4.4. I will try both 7.5.0 and current version on M8 when a drive is long enough.

I've got the same problem on my Xperia z2 running latest cm11 nightly (4.4.4). I just installed maps 8.2 from apk and will report back after my trip home today which is about 4h long.
