Hi,
I recently switched from a Xperia Z to my new Nexus 5. So far so good, but I am really starting to get annoyed by the keyboard.
I am german speaking so the umlauts () are quite important to me.

The Problem is: on the xperia, on long press a u o, the corresponding umlaut was centered inside the popup (just like e.g. on the iPhone).

Now Google obviously thought that it might be a great idea on the stock keyboard to frigging use numbers, centered on o and u, and go for the centered on the a character.

This is extremely annoying. I constantly have to delete and retype the and character. I DONT need the damn number keys, if I do I press the modifier key.

Apart from that, the keyboard is great, so I would not want to switch to something like swiftkeys which works terrible on German dialects.

Is there a way to modify the virtual keyboard in a way so that there are other character centered inside the long press popup?

I was looking on the net for almost an hour now but couldn't find a hint.
Thanks!
