left my nexus 5 plugged in to the charge for 7 days at home while I was away

I will keep a close eye for any issues regarding battery life but can someone just reassure me that everything is fine and the battery is not fried?

it should be fine. my nexus 7 has been plugged in for 3 weeks straight

You're kidding? The phone has built in circuitry that'll limit the charge. You haven't damaged anything

How do you explain the phones in stores that are plugged in 24/7? No harm was done whatsoever. I've left tablets plugged in months on end sometimes.
