Default Nexus 5 available storage in 16GB version

Hello
I'm considering buying the nexus 5.
How much storage space the 16GB version has out of the box ? That will make me decide between 16 and 32
Do installed apps (from Google play) take space from that storage ? I ask that because in my Galaxy S2 data partiton (the apps partition) is different than the USB storage area.
Thanks

The 16 GB version has about 11.8 GB and the 32 GB has about 26.8 GB (Mines does anyway).

Yes installed apps from Google play take up that space because there is no "USB storage" where you can't install apps but can place your app data.

I always wipe all contents from the sd card(internal) in my GS2 and apps still intact ! I wonder why the manufacturers change that and made the sd card is the place to store .apk apps files !
I always took for granted that /data is different than /sdcard being data is for apk and sdcard is for apps cache for the most and also photos taken from the camera plus misc files you decide to copy to phone storage

Thanks guys, that answered my main inquiry. I guess I would go for the 32 version.

12.55 GB on mine. I'm getting a meenova adapter for 12 bucks. It's coming today. Cheaper than paying the difference buy a32 GB is more convenient though with meenova I can use even more storage like 64 GB SD card
