Thumbs up IT WORKED!
I had the same issue last week and MAGNET TRICK SOLVED it, and my Nexus5 has not created any trouble since then, for almost 1 week!

I've read a lot of forum pages about this and none of the solutions had worked for me until I've read here the message about the magnet!
I tried some small magnets first but they didn't work. But when I kept the big one(almost as big as a 1 euro coin) around the power button and moved it around there, it worked like a charm!! I opened the phone with the power button and it still works like the first day.

Thanks a lot for sharing that Magnet solution!!

Happened to me 20 minutes ago!

This method worked for me!
"To anyone reading this who is experiencing the same problem:
Basically, just take your case off and flick the power button hard with your finger (flick, not press), and also press it quickly a couple of times. This should be enough to no longer have your power button be stuck."

I hope i don't get the same issue again!
