[Q] Nexus 5 Wi-Fi Battery drain when in deep sleep.

Having high battery drain during deep sleep, about 2-4% every hour.

Nothing is running and the culprit is WiFi according to battery stats.

Any tips?

I've turned off many advanced settings and still drains battery.

I heard it could be wifi settings?

There are several advanced wifi settings about which different people have different opinions as far as what's best for extending battery life. A quick Google search of this forum will provide you with lots of suggested fixes.

In wifi Settings turn off keep active when in sleep mode. Dont know the ecaxt naming in english since i use it in a other language.

How strong is your WiFi signal? Do you have always scanning turned on? Is your Wifi being used in the background to sync data? Apps like facebook and certain widgets can be updating all the time.

This is a known issue across multiple devices and it is caused by your router, not the phone. Disable wifi or set it to turn off when the phone is sleeping and the issue should go away.

This is definitely a problem with the phone and not the router because the issue goes away with a restart.
