what is the easiest way of rooting google nexus 5 indian version

and is it necessory to unloc bootloader first before rooting this phone

basically..
1. fastboot oem unlock
2. fastboot flash a custom recovery
3. flash the su binaries via your new custom recovery
4. reboot and profit
