Cool Ramdom phantom button presses

I have a UK Nexus 5 running 4.4.2 rooted and with twrp 2.6.4 installed.

Everything was fine until a few days ago when I installed Angry Birds Go! and Android Device Manager, since then as i try to use the touchscreen phantom presses occur i.e. button presses at completely the wrong point of the screen i'm pressing.

And it has made the phone unusable. I have no idea how this occurred as I doubt those apps i've installed caused it.

Even more worrying I booted into TWRP to wipe cache and phantom presses STILL occured.

Also Wiping the cache didn't help.

Could I have some deep rooted malware that the Avast! android AV app can't find.

Do I /can I do something to recalibrate the touchscreen?

Worried about my new phone....

This will be probably extreme but do a full wipe.
As it happened only after installing certain apps, factory reset might be the best thing to do.

That is very odd but I would do a wipe.

I doubt that angry birds or android device manager gave you malware.
