Default [Q] Using N5 in Turks and Caicos Island

Hey all -

I'm heading to Turks and Caicos on holiday next week. Is the easiest way to avoid US roaming fees to grab a local (I believe it's Digicel) SIM card when I get down there, pop mine out and pop that in?

Sorry if this is newbish, this is my first T-Mo and first GSM phone (longtime VZW customer)...

Thanks very much in advance!

- T-Mobile now has free worldwide unlimited data roaming, but it's 2g, and you would still be roaming as far as phone calls, and charged between 50 cents and 1 dollar per minute.

-You can use any local prepaid gsm sim to pay less for calls and to have 3g data.

I don't think it covers every single country?

I was told $2.39 per minute for calls. Trying to avoid that. Adding the $10/mo international unlimited doesn't seem to help...

Thoughts?

Actually, you're right, it's not every country, but it is over 100.

Wow! 2.39 is absurd. Well, that's why you should go for the local sim.
