Default Vpn (PPTP) unable to disconnect

I have setup PPTP vpn using my vps. Vpn works good in pc as well as on my device. Problem is when I try to disconnect it won't let me, or it disconnect but the status on my notification area still shows connected. So when I want to connect again the next time to vpn it won't let me coz notification shows connected. No way to connect again but to restart phone. Also, everytime I disconnect my Internet seems broken, can't browse etc. I am on 4.4.4 stock, with Xposed.

Anyone experience this and has a fix?

Did you by any chance flash the delvik hack? I only say this because I had the same problem after flashing it and after switching back it was fine.
