Default WhatsApp problems on Wi-Fi

Hey there guys,

Just got my new pup two days ago, and it's absolutely fantastic. the change coming from GS2 is absolutely amazing.

Noticed though, that when i'm connected via my home Wi-Fi, WhatsApp seems to struggle for some reason. - Long delays sending messages, and receiving them. Hell, when I switched back to 3G like 30 messages from different groups popped up.
I've never encountered such problems with my good ol' GS2.

- Running rooted N5 with KANGAKAT + Franco's kernel. Any ideas?

Thanks!

used to get this to some degree on my SG3. receiving msgs would delay sometimes 5-10min when I was on wifi... on LTE or 4G, theyd come in instantaneously.

but that was my only issue.

Have you managed to get this fixed?

...wondering what could cause this problem.
