EDIT: resolved problems with failing to install, just had to keep redownloading files that failed verification until they passed.

However, it seems a lot of applications refuse to use Wi-Fi (they keep saying no network connection available) while they gladly chug up my mobile data...

Can it be installed on a flash drive and use an OTG cable to boot?

I'm having an issue with my Sim card being detected. I've tried literally every install/branch on multirom. On each one I have installed, booted up for the first time. During the set up it always says no Sim detected, I continue through w WiFi. Once booted no Sim options show up in settings, i.e. cellular. I pop the Sim out and reinsert it and restart the device, still no good.
I'm not sure what else to try and do, as in android/any other ROM installed the Sim picks up automatically. I have newest multirom w all updates, and my network is att, w KTU84P modem.

I am having the same issue as above, ubuntu touch will not recognize my SIM, even though I have no problems on any other roms.

Guys, does Ubuntu use AOSP kernel or CAF? I saw in this thread that some people were flashing ElementalX, Franco (AOSP) and Chaos (CAF), both just CAN'T work the same, so I have to ask.
Well, I'm feeling it'll use AOSP base, but I still want to be sure.
