I kind of doubt a messaging app needs system read/write access. Which is needed for installing apps. That iMessage app had that. That in itself is beyond shady. The main worry was about credit card info tied to Apple IDs going through that server in China, not really apps getting stolen or snooping in on conversations

or just use viber, whatsapp, kik, Facebook etc... all the same **** just doesn't integrate it in to the stock iOS messaging app - pretty sure there's go sms and stuff as well?
