Good Facebook Messenger App Replacement

I'm trying to avoid using the Facebook and Messenger apps altogether to free ram. The messaging in the browser and Opera Mini work fine but I don't get notifications for messages. Is there any alternative to get notifications?

I use UC browser, I like it a lot, but I'm not really on fb, so it's simple and enough for me. I don't think you can get any notification though.

Yeah, I tried UC browser out before, Ran pretty well. A little bit jumpy when scrolling every now and then for me but was pretty smooth. I've been using Stock Browser for Messages and Opera Mini for scrolling the Feed. Really just need Notifications for messages, Thanks for your input.

I don't have texting on my phone anymore so I've been using Facebook for messaging. No good alternatives to messenger or to get FB message notifications?
