I've been using M8 for around 4 months and over the time what I've noticed is front firing BoomSound speakers are delivering less bass compared to what it sounded when it was new. Now its more of a treble.
Initially, it used to have that powerful punch in it. Its still there but less noticeable.

Is there any workaround for this?

I also notice that every update, the less the speakers produce bass. You should try the harman/kardon mod. It gives the loudspeaker more bass and treble than the regular boomsound. But you have to be S-Off and running the latest firmware though to have it properly working..

Thats not my experience, h/k mod gave me only treble, and no bass whatsoever

Since our device support 96KHz playback, has anyone made Viper4Android process in 96KHz? Mine says that it is 48KHz.

If you use h/k mod or zeros project era it should be enabled, even if viper say its just 48 kHz.

Maybe I just misread something too but viper won't activate 96

Does Project Era conflict with Viper4Android's installed driver?

No just flash the mod then reboot and install viper 4android also if you are on lollipop be sure to change selinux permission with an app from play store if not already and also go to developer settings in ROM settings AMD change from my player to awesome player otherwise v4a won't install correctly...but this is only for lollipop

Thanks, I've already tried Viper4Android on SkyDragon (lollipop) and it works without the need to change to awesome player.
