I'm developing an application for Android and I want to use the rear camera inside my application, however, Android API only allows me to choose one rear camera with Camera.CameraInfo. CAMERA_FACING_BACK.

How can I choose which rear camera to use in HTC One M8?

I could be totally off target with this , but here it goes . I believe with the HTC One M8 the secondary camera is just a depth field sensor . It doesn't do anything with the main camera . I just provides secondary data for the processing of the image when you apply U focus . Much like Im sure google camera doesnt acknowledge the depth field camera either . Like I said I could be wrong I have never worked in the area of coding you are currently working on . But logic would indicate the Ufocus function pulls from the data gathered by the second camera where as the data gathered by the regular camera is the primary data .
