Question [Q] application for screen off and on

hi
i want an application to off and on the screen without touching the power buttom.
which application do this?
my device does not root.

If you don't have root you can't, not on HTC one M7. The stock kernel doesn't support wake gestures, so you need a custom kernel that does support wake gestures which requires root and a custom recovery.

Only the HTC one m8 supports wake gestures on stock I think. I don't have an m8 so can't confirm that.

You are right. M8 has wake gestures, but it also has Snapdragon 801 which is much better regading battery consuption. M7 has Snapdragon 600 and with custom kernel it supports wake gestures, but battery drain is significant when you enable them

It's a kernel feature, not ROM. You can have it on stock ROM if your kernel supports it and most custom kernels do
