if you converted to OtterX see
[How-To] Revert from OtterX Project back to Stock Amazon Partitions by sd_shadow

Requirements
  • Twrp 2.2.2.1
  • FFF bootloader (1.4, 1.4a, or 1.5)

Watch: How To restore your Kindle fire to stock from a custom rom (be sure to use TWRP 2.2.2.1)
It's old, but still a good reference.
More Details here [HOW-TO] Root / Install a ROM / Unroot / Revert to Stock (A KFFB Supplement) by kinfauns

Downloads Verify MD5's see https://sites.google.com/site/sdshad...hash-checksums

Install 2.2.2.1 and FFF in current twrp. reboot twrp

Change file extension for update-kindle-6.3.4_D01E_4120220.bin
to update-kindle-6.3.4_D01E_4120220.zip

Wipe partitions in 2.2.2.1 Twrp
See Screenshots
Wipe>Factory Reset, and Wipe>System
Reboot>recovery

Install update-kindle-6.3.4_D01E_4120220.zip
in Twrp 2.2.2.1
uncheck>zip file signature verification
See Screenshots

If you see any errors during install, do not reboot
try wiping partitions again, then try install again
if it fails again, try a different stock rom file.

I may go into more detail later.

Note: Installing full stock zip, will restore stock recovery and bootloader.

WIndows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit if it matters.

For some reason I just can't get my kindle to show the update once i've changed it from .bin to .zip .

Sorry for the late response been pretty busy.

You can't install stock roms with TWRP 2.8.3.0, you need 2.2.2.1

.img files are for flashing with fastboot.exe in bootloader/fastboot mode
zips are used to install in twrp
if you are flashing an .img it needs to be on the pc in same folder as adb.exe and fastboot.exe
if you are installing a installable .zip it needs to be on the sd card should not matter where on the sd card.

fastboot reboot
Like in my video Flashing Twrp in FFF bootloader with fastboot.exe

I've flashed it and i'm now stuck on the screen that says press power button for boot menu.

Nevermind, its booted.
