Default towel root

Since this is still gingerbread, would towel root work? If root could be achieved this way, could twrp be flashed without having to go into fastboot?

I'm running dual-boot with 6.3.2 as primary boot. I tried to flash the update in the TWRP 2.4.4.0 I have installed, but as soon as I swipe to flash, TWRP just kind of restarts with no info in the log. Is this because I'm dual-boot? I apologize if it sounds like a stupid question, but it's been a long time since I set up the system and don't recall the exact process.

Original stock kindle updates only can be installed on twrp 2.2.2.1 or lower and will flash stock bootloader and recovery. You need a modified stock if you want to keep twrp and fff bootloader. Never dual booted so not sure what else needs to be done.

I have no idea if my prerooted 6.3.3 can be dual booted, I would guess no. Thought special changes were needed to do that.

OK did some checking on dual booting/ alt ROMs.
No my current version is not an Alt ROM, but will release a test version, when I get a chance.

I'm sorry, I should have clarified, I was trying to flash your preroot version.

That would be great. If you'd like someone to test it before release, let me know. I'd be happy to help.
