Can the bezel below the display could ever be used as capacitive buttons

So as i come to the g2 from my htc sensation .I am very much the capacitive button guy.So it amazes me whether if the right and left sides of the lg logo below the display could be used as capacitive buttona by modding.If possible we would be able to use the entire 5.2inch real estate of our g2

you can use an alternate nav method like pie controls

allowing the removal of the nav bar for full screen

No...That area is just part of the front housing, not touch sensitive like on the Palm Pre.
