My G3 stopped reading any sim cards (tried 3). I get the No Sim found message. Only option is to replace the motherboard. I was going to buy a phone that has a bad or good esn and hopefully flash it with my good esn. Can this be done? I have a backup of my efs partition already.

It does not work like that. Sure you may have your efs backup however it will not replace the imei of the new motherboard you get. In order to exchange both board's imei is to get it done by a person who has an octoplus box. Also, changing imei is a very sensitive topic here on Xda the post might be taken down or closed.

I can under the sensitivity of the topic. I was just looking for a single answer as a cheap fix rather than buying a whole new phone. Thanks.
