Install the custom recovery using fastboot

Fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery twrp_2.8.7.6_6.img

##
then go to recovery in your mate 7 , power + Volume up
install , choose supersu_2.64_pro.zip
##if u want to unroot , flash unSU or from inside in superSU , unroot
11.recovery is the official reocvery of M
boot.img is the official boot of M

now for android marshmallow hidden features
- Get any root explorer (Fx is the best with Fx root add-on ..)
open system\build.prop
and search for
# ro.build.type #
change it from #user# to #userdebug#
secret expermintal features now appeared , u can see them at developer options and other places.

All I found was a multi window button in developer options but it doesn't seem to do anything.

try to push recent button, do you have new button to open 2 aps in one window? (right corner of app in recent menu) try it and write what you found

Can confirm that root was achieved using the SuperSU version provided (the previous one I tried resulted in a bootloop funny enough).

Yet to try out the multi-window thing.

So I have turned on the option in the developer settings, however can see no change in the recents screen. No additional buttons to press. Holding the recents button only garners the "This application is not supported by Dual Windows" message. I think the button doesn't show up simply because EMUI has crippled the recent apps screen so much that the OS can't place it anywhere.

Oh and @gahu777, the link you posted is doing essentially the same thing as OP is. The only difference is that the video shows how to do it through ADB, which is the long way of doing it.
